Jordan Ayew |
Ghanaian international, Jordan Ayew has refused to resume training with the rest of his Swansea City teammates, manager Graham Potter confirmed.
The 26-year-old who moved to the Liberty Stadium from Aston Villa from 2017 was the club’s top scorer last season with 12 goals across all competitions and was awarded the Player of the Year.
Following Swansea’s relegation from the Premier League last season, Ayew is keen on playing top-flight football in the 2018-19 campaign with Crystal Palace rumoured to be a likely destination.
The Welsh outfit have reportedly rejected an £8m bid from Fulham earlier this summer.
However, Potter revealed that the club are holding out for a ‘good enough deal’ before releasing the Black Stars attacker who missed their 2-1 win over Sheffield United in Saturday’s Championship opener.
“There’s no further news on Jordan – he’s just not been here,” Potter told BBC Sport.
“That tells you that he’s not part of what we’re trying to do, by his own actions.
“It’s whether we can get a good enough deal for the club. Otherwise, that’s going to be an interesting time for him.”
Jordan’s brother, Andre joined Fenerbahce on a season-long loan deal and the 26-year-old might follow suit before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
