Reduce the cost of Electricity and Data too – Asiedu Nketia tells Government.
The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has charged on the President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo to also reduce the cost of electricity and data since the government has covered water bills for Ghanaians.
The General Secretary has urged the ruling government to also effect the reductions of electricity and data as part of the packages to cushion Ghanaians in the fight against the novel coronavirus.
“We expect costs of data, fuel, and electricity to be reduced too…,” he said.
General mosquito added that the packages announced by the President will not get to the target people(needy in society).
“Who are those classified as needy and poor to be fed in these times? The packages would be announced in the name of the poor but may end up in wrong pockets…,” he said.
In the President’s fifth address to the nation on coronavirus, he announced that the government will cover the water bills for Ghanaians for the next three months.
President Nana Akuffo Addo further announced various packages for the Health workers which included free transportation for them as well as payment of 50% bonuses in addition to the salary.
